Backpackers Paradise is a spacious 4 star graded backpacker hostel where comfort and quality meet. Owner run, this friendly hostel offers divinely wide beds and excellent service from staff. We will happily share the secrets of the little Karoo and arrange a wide variety of activities from our adventure and travel centre for you. Thanks to loads of space indoors and out, nothing will cramp your style during your stay. In fact, the relaxed atmosphere is a little addictive, so don’t be surprised if you end up staying longer than planned.
We can accommodate up to 50 people, but because the hostel is set over 4 properties – there is a lot of space and it is never crowded. There are many places on the property where you can find solitude if you need it or enjoy the company of all the other travelers in the communal areas. Once you’ve settled in you can check your e-mails in the internet café, grab a beer from the bar (which is situated far away from any sleep areas), have a swim the pool, make scrumptious meals in the communal kitchen with herbs from the herb garden, relax in front of the television or enjoy the sunset from the balcony. We offer daily meals of ostrich fillet cooked on the fire South African style and also serve delicious vegetarian meals.
Our daily full breakfast is served for the more comfortable traveler or you can enjoy fresh ostrich egg DIY style free (during season), to add to your self-catering breakfast. It is easy to find us we are situated on the right hand side of the main road to the Cango Caves. Free safe parking, DSTV, Laundry facilities, free towel service, free tea and coffee, book swop library, REAL coffee machine, exclusive discounts to local attractions. Joyrides (Daily activities offered by Backpackers Paradise for up to 25 people) Cycle down the Swartberg Pass and visit the Cango Caves for an adventurous tour, Ostrich farm to ride a big bird, Camel farm for camel ride and Wildlife Ranch to pat a cheetah or croc cage dive, or perhaps you want to hold a tiger cub.
All of this in one day out in the little Karoo by mountain bike. Other activities in the area include horse riding at Le Petit Karoo Ranch, Quad Biking, Game drives, Elephant feeding, Hot Air Ballooning to name but a few.
