About Baobab Bar in Limpopo

This bar in the trunk of a Baobab has punters travelling from miles around for a brew. It has been created in a huge 72ft high tree in this garden in Limpopo, South Africa, to keep thirsty locals happy.

Carbon-dating, which can determine the age of organic materials, has shown the ancient tree is about 6,000 years old.
More than 7,000 visitors from all over the world come to see the majestic Baobab each year and have a drink in its bar, which has four metre high ceilings and comfortably seats up to 15 people.Even though the tree trunk is hollow, it walls are up to two metres thick.

The Big Baobab is on the farm Sunland, an avocado and mangos. At the Big Baobab we can accommodate 20 people in 5 chalets. We also offer quadbiking on our own quads or you can bring your own.

Directions

Take the N1 to Polokwane
After Shell Ultra City take Tzaneen bypass.
Continue straight until you see R81 Giyani. R36 Modjajiskloof.
6km before Modjajiskloof take the Modadji Rd, +- 4km Leeudraai (dirt road) on left.
Sunland is first left on Leeudraai
