This Victorian building, which started out as a Hotel at the turn of the century, now sleeps backpacking tourists. This perfect location on a corner of Long Street has three stories of double, twin, single and dorm rooms; and a large wrap-around balcony from which you can see Table Mountain or spy on the busy street life.
Bedrooms are furnished and there is a basin in every room. Bathrooms are communal. The self-catering kitchen is adjacent to the spacious TV lounge and dining room where you can eat your meal in style or watch television on a lazy night. You can also lounge on the balcony with a cold drink and watch the happenings on the street.
Friendly staff will look after your travel needs, whether it be booking day tours or over lands, car rental, Baz Bus tickets, exchanging foreign currency or phoning a taxi to the beach or an airport shuttle.
Our guests either use the Shell garage around the corner from us, or they can park on-street.
The Shell garage charges R 35 for half a day (either from 8am - 5pm ; 5pm - 8am) or R 70 for 24 hours.
Alternatively, you could park on-street. Parking marshals charge about R 4.50 for half an hour, and at night you can just tip the car guard instead of paying an hourly rate. The official marshals are ours between 8am - 5pm on weekdays ; 8am - 1pm on Saturdays ; and they're off on Sundays
