Whether you stop over at Coffee Bay to chill or to enjoy the numerous outdoor activities on offer, this place remains a jewel on the spectacular Wild Coast and one of the most beautiful spots in South Africa. Situated in the Eastern Cape north of the city of East London, the small community of Coffee Bay is not much more than some huts, a trading store, a camping site and a hotel. But the coast is stunning and the beach untouched. Sightseeing enthusiasts should make a bee-line for the geological marvel known as the Hole in the Wall, a massive, detached cliff with an arched opening through which the rolling waves thunder. Once settled in at Coffee Bay you can enjoy swimming, surfing, scuba diving and horse riding or undertake one of the various hiking trails - like the famous Wild Coast Hiking Trail - around the area.
