
The Backpackers Lodge is set on the Touw River, overlooking the Wilderness National Park Lakes. The old Victorian homestead, built in 1874 is equipped with all of the necessary modern conveniences in a secure beautiful setting, nestled beneath a Milkwood Forest. Wilderness is surrounded by many rivers, natural lakes and lagoons making it an Aqua Adventure paradise and a great spot for water sport enthusiasts.
After a morning of bird and animal watching from a canoe in the Wilderness National Park, you can enjoy horse riding, abseiling, Kloofing or take a Tandem Paragliding flight in one of the best locations in South Africa.
Wilderness is the midway point of the Garden Route and Fairy Knowe Backpackers Lodge is a door to door drop-off point for Baz Bus travelers or alternatively it is a mere 5 minute drive from the N2 national highway and easy to locate for visitors making use of their own or a rental vehicle. The city-to city bus services all stop in Wilderness and those travelling by Air can fly into George Airport, a short 15km drive away.
