The hostel situated on a hill bordering a nature reserve, Ku-Boboyi’s views sweep over the indigo ocean and horizon, down to the rippling valley below where the river meanders seawards. Her welcoming earthy African vibe often tempts travelers to change their plans and stay longer. Or brings happy holidaymakers back again.
Their lush garden is home to choirs of birds and gangs of small animals who drop by to watch the passing parade. The swimming pool sparkles in front of a cool veranda where hand-made chairs and tables await the arrival of appetizing dinners, lit by starlight and candles. If they aren’t cooking they can recommend a good, affordable restaurant.
Take a walk on the wild side and enter into the heart of the people and the land. Community initiatives like the fantastic Amadiba trail or a day trip to the Mzamba River are highly recommended. Experience a day with local flavours - eat a Xhosa traditional lunch, consult a sangoma, visit a local school and drop in on a shebeen for a quickie. Blood Diamond (with Leonardo di Caprio) was filmed in this beautiful area.
