The Santos Express Train Lodge is a genuine train situated on Santos Beach, in Mossel Bay, with all cabins facing the sea.
An invigorating sea breeze keeps everything cool even on really hot days. Our happening bar and restaurant serves traditional meals, steaks and seafood, and the double and single rates include a continental breakfast in the restaurant or on the sundeck. We are close to town centre, pubs and the Harbour. Our staff can assist with arrangements for adventure activities, such as shark cage diving, whale watching, games drives, and skydiving.
We offer you a unique stay in a double compartment or single coupe similar to the Trans Karoo. We are 5 - 10 minute’s walk from the Dias Museum Complex, Harbour and town centre. We have 5 coaches, of which 4 of them are identical, with 5 compartments (2-4 sleeper), and 2 coupe's (1-2 sleeper), 2 toilets and 1 shower. The 5th coach is divided into a 16 bed Dorm with self-catering kitchen and the Caboose - an on-suite room with balcony. Double and single rates include a free continental breakfast. We can accommodate a maximum of 114 people and have special rates for groups of 30 people or more (low season). Seasonal rates apply.
From George and Knysna, follow road into Mossel Bay. Just before town centre, turn left to Santos Beach. We are 100 m on the left, right on the beach. From Cape Town, follow the road into town. Ignore the turn-off and carry on with the long bend down the hill. At the bottom of the hill turn right towards town. Just before town centre, turn left to Santos Beach. We are 100 m on the left, right on the beach.
